This session will bring together EO service providers, insurance companies and financial institutions.
The EO data and services for the insurance and finance market segment is expected to see an annual growth rate of 20% over the next decade, resulting in almost €1 bn in total revenues. Today, EO is increasingly used to compute indices for parametric products particularly for crops and livestock insurance, and for calibration of risk models and assessment of damage supporting both the insurance and finance stakeholders in claim management.
In the finance domain, EO will further increase its role in the production of indices for commodities trading supporting the development of logistics strategies of organizations that exploit natural resources. The growing interest in Environmental Social Governance (ESG)-based investments in the finance sector is also driving the adoption of EO technology, as investors seek reliable data to assess environmental impact and sustainability.
