Toni Männistö is the founder and Director of CargoSense, a Finland-based consultancy focused on supply chain security management. CargoSense helps customs administrations, border guards and coast guards put emerging technologies into operational use, from detection and inspection equipment to data analytics and AI, and integrate them into daily work at borders, in ports and across logistics networks. Toni has more than 15 years of experience in customs, border management and EU-funded security research. Since 2011 he has worked with the Cross-border Research Association (CBRA), where he coordinates PEN-CP, the Pan-European Network of Customs Practitioners, and contributes to projects including CONNECTOR, PARSEC and MELCHIOR. He holds a PhD in Management of Technology from EPFL and an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from Aalto University.
