Thao holds a PhD in Geology. She has been working in the humanitarian sector for almost 20 years, in Africa, Middle-East, Asia and now in Switzerland with a focus on GIS and remote sensing. With the ICRC, she is currently involved in several innovative projects, such as Remote Monitoring of Armed Conflicts through AI and Mapping Vulnerable Populations with AI.
