Moritz Kirsch received his M.Sc. in Geology from the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, in 2008 and his Ph.D. from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 2012. Since 2016, he has been working as a research associate at the Helmholtz-Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology, Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, where he leads a group on Geomonitoring in the Department of Exploration. His research interests lie at the interface of geology and digital resource technologies, with a focus on integrating multi-sensor data including hyperspectral imaging at different scales to characterise primary and secondary mineral resources and to support environmentally responsible resource development.
