Bio

Marcos López is MSc. in Physics (1994 to 1999) and Electronics Engineering (1999 to 2001) from the University of Valladolid. Marcos López has the qualification of Project Management Professional PMP certified by PMI (2017). He has a big experience as project manager on large supply contracts with complex integration of HW and SW solutions in the sector of Intelligent Transport. He joined GMV from 2001 where first activities where focused on different applications of GNSS products in several sectors at user level. Activities as development and perform trials with dedicated airplanes to test deployment and capabilities of EGNOS, and others as EGNOS RIMS survey and tracking of vehicles and vessels. From 2008 he was responsible of Maritime Section into GMV ITS managing projects and taking care of business activities with Maritime stakeholders. During that period he performed deep training in maritime aspects being awarded with Terminal Management Master (2010 to 2011) and becoming Expert in Maritime Traffic and Port Management by the Technical University of Madrid (2007 to 2008). He is a member of IALA organization being involved into PNT and NAV working groups. At 2016 he becomes responsible of Special Projects Division into GMV ITS including project management and business activities. During that period big contract of one of the most complex HW products of GMV where managed by him acquiring very relevance experience in the field. He is well known at GSA as maritime expert being involved in projects as SMARTSHIP and SEASOLAS and others with ESA as EUROPORT and EUDEMPORT. Beginning 2020 and more recently, into GMV NAV, he acquired new responsibilities at the GNSS GMV Unit in the User Segment Division as Maritime domain expert and Product development in charge of business development, product market strategy and project management activities.
