In 2021 Cristina joined the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) as Leader of the Copernicus National Uptake and Thematic collaborations team in the User Engagement and Outreach section. She is responsible for the development of the C3S and CAMS National Collaboration Programmes and of the Copernicus Thematic Hubs on Energy and Health.
From 2015 to 2021, she worked as Seconded National Expert at the European Commission, DG DEFIS, in the Copernicus Programme. She experienced the policy-making environment of the European Commission, providing her technical and programmatic experience in support to the decision-making processes of the European institutions.
Before this experience, she worked for 13 years at the Italian Space Agency (ASI) in the Earth Observation department, managing research and innovation projects to exploit the use of Earth Observation data for the development of applications and services for environmental monitoring.
Cristina Ananasso has a degree in Physics and PhD in Polar Sciences. Masters in Project Management and Space Policies.
